When 300 Food Packages Became a Lifeline for Palestinian Refugees

November 3, 2025 | By DT Peduli Staff

AMMAN — Under the blazing early November sun, the narrow courtyard of Mahattah Camp was filled with hopeful faces. Children ran between stacks of food boxes, while mothers stood patiently in line. That Saturday, November 1, 2025, marked a special day for hundreds of Palestinian refugee families living in the camp.

Through the “Care for Palestine” program, DT Peduli distributed 150 food packages to residents of Mahattah Camp, followed by another 150 packages in Nasr Camp the next day, Sunday (November 2, 2025). A total of 300 food packages and ready-to-eat meals were delivered to refugees who have long lived in hardship and displacement.

The aid distribution was personally led by Cucu Hidayat, Treasurer of DT Peduli Foundation, together with Muhammad Ihsan, Director of the Community Empowerment Division (LPM) DT Peduli. They were accompanied by volunteers and the local implementing partner, ICCS, ensuring that every donation reached the rightful recipients.

“Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Alhamdulillah, today we are in Mahattah Camp, one of the Palestinian refugee settlements in Jordan. We are distributing food packages for 150 Palestinian families,” said Cucu Hidayat, during the distribution on Saturday (1/11/2025).

The atmosphere was emotional. Many of the beneficiaries have spent years, even decades, in refugee camps. Each package — containing rice, sugar, oil, and other essential food items — may seem simple, yet it means survival for families struggling to make ends meet every day.

The following day, the DT Peduli team continued their journey to Nasr (Jabal Nasser) Camp, one of Jordan’s largest refugee settlements, home to around 40,000–50,000 people. There, DT Peduli distributed another 150 food packages and hot meals to families living in densely packed tents.

“We hope this can ease their burden here in the camps. And may our donors know that their contributions truly reach those in need. We all strive to be of benefit — and in shaa Allah, Palestine will be free,” expressed Cucu Hidayat.

Compassion and Hope

One of the beneficiaries in Nasr Camp expressed a heartfelt message:

“Alhamdulillah. May Allah reward you. You have helped us. We are poor; we have nothing. You have helped us with your donations.”

The words were spoken through tears — a simple but powerful reminder of how meaningful such assistance can be. Each food box symbolised love and solidarity from the people of Indonesia, who continue to give selflessly despite the distance of thousands of kilometres.

For DT Peduli, this program represents more than just logistics — it embodies Indonesia’s enduring humanitarian solidarity with Palestine. Through initiatives like these, DT Peduli remains committed to delivering donors’ trust directly to those who need it most, ensuring that hope continues to live amidst adversity.

“May we all continue to be a source of benefit — and in shaa Allah, freedom will come for Palestine,” concluded Cucu, with optimism and faith.
