“Thank You, Indonesia”
AMMAN – On Sunday afternoon (17 August 2025), Zhoufah Camp was filled with joy. Children played happily with new toys they had just received, mothers smiled as they held food packages, and fathers accepted aid with heartfelt emotion.
This was the scene during DT Peduli’s aid distribution for Palestinian refugees on the Jordanian border. On Sunday (17 August 2025), Monday (18 August 2025), and Thursday (21 August 2025), DT Peduli delivered hundreds of food packages, clothing, school supplies, and children’s toys to the refugees. In total, 150 food packages and 100 clothing and children’s kits were distributed.
For the beneficiaries, each package meant far more than just material relief. Halimah, a mother at Sukhnah Camp, shared that the food package she received would last her family an entire month. With tears in her eyes, she prayed:
“May Allah ease their hardship, relieve their worries, and grant them victory. That is the most important.”
At the same camp, Alya, a refugee supporting four family members, expressed her gratitude in a few but meaningful words:
“(This aid) is wonderful for my family of four. God willing, victory for Palestine will come. If there is a chance to return, in shaa Allah, we will return.”
Voices of gratitude also came from Ghadah, a refugee originally from Tulkarem:
“There are eight of us at home, and this will only last a week. May God grant us freedom, so we can return to our homeland. Thank you for your compassion,” she said softly.
One of the most touching moments came from Abdul Hadi Muhammad Izz, a man in a wheelchair who has lived in Al-Nashr Camp for ten years. With tears in his eyes, he told the volunteers:
“SubhanAllah, you are honourable people. May Allah open the doors of provision for you, strengthen you, and reward you with goodness. In shaa Allah, you will enter Paradise.”
Amid the crowd was Muhammad Isa Al-Darwish, a refugee who had lived in the camp since 1967. With a voice of wisdom and experience, he said:
“This program is excellent, 100%. Thank you, Indonesia, thank you to all the donors, and to everyone who has cared for us. Barakallahu fikum.”
Muhammad Ihsan, Director of LPM DT Peduli, who led the aid distribution, emphasised that these moments proved the donors’ trust had truly reached its intended recipients.
“This is the second phase of aid, and in shaa Allah, it will continue for up to ten phases. The enthusiasm here is extraordinary. May this effort become a source of ongoing charity (amal jariyah) for the people of Indonesia,” he said during the distribution at Al-Nashr Camp.
According to Ihsan, every word of “thank you” heard in the camps is proof that solidarity knows no borders. Through DT Peduli, Indonesia has been present in their midst—bringing not only aid packages, but also hope to keep fighting and praying for freedom.
“The people here have shown remarkable gratitude. This is their way of expressing thanks for the support given by the people of Indonesia. We ask for your continued prayers—may this effort be counted as a righteous deed, and may every prayer from the refugees here be answered by Allah and bring blessings to us all. Thank you,” Ihsan concluded.
The aid efforts did not stop there. On Friday (22 August 2025), DT Peduli also delivered 350 direct cash assistance packages to Palestinian children with cancer who are undergoing treatment at Al-Fanar Hotel. In addition, a mobile clinic service has been prepared to operate for the next three months, starting in September, to ensure continued access to basic healthcare for thousands of refugees across camps in Jordan.
