BATAM – DT Peduli Riau Islands (Kepri) carried out a unique social initiative on Monday (25 August 2025). Unlike usual activities, this time, DT Peduli Kepri distributed 1,000 sets of sleeping equipment sourced from the Saga cruise ship.
The assistance included mattresses, bed sheets, pillows, blankets, and mats—all still in good condition. These items were distributed to 25 orphanages, 50 mosques, and 25 Islamic boarding schools across Batam.
Initially, the program was focused only on Sagulung and Batu Aji districts. However, due to the large number of items, the distribution was extended to Sekupang, Nongsa, and Galang.
Ustadz Ridwan, head of Al-Anjum Orphanage in Aviari Garden, Batam, expressed his gratitude:
“Many thanks to DT Peduli and PaxOcean for this support. The sleeping equipment is very beneficial for our orphans, especially since the old mattresses were no longer in good condition,” he said.
The synergy between DT Peduli Kepri and its partners is hoped to continue, bringing even more goodness to communities in need.
