BEKASI — Twenty toddlers in Cicau Village, Central Cikarang, now have renewed hope for a healthier and smarter future thanks to the launch of a nutrition improvement program. The initiative is a collaboration between Yayasan Baitul Maal (YBM), PLN UP3 Cikarang, DT Peduli Bekasi, and Sukamahi Health Center, officially launched on Thursday (29 August 2025).
The program began with the distribution of specially designed nutrition packages to meet the dietary needs of toddlers. These packages included a variety of local food products such as rice, fruits, eggs, shredded meat, formula milk, and vitamins for both children and mothers.
The launch event was attended by representatives from the three partners, parents, and toddlers who will benefit from the program. Running for three months, the program goes beyond providing aid—it also focuses on regular growth monitoring and continuous parental education, conducted on a monthly basis.
Aprilia, a representative of YBM PLN, shared her hopes for the initiative:
“We hope that children whose growth has not matched the curve can show improvement in the coming months, allowing them to grow healthy and become a bright generation,” she said.
Similarly, the Head of Sukamahi Health Center, Heru Hermawan, reminded parents of the broader challenges of stunting:
“Stunting can be caused by many factors, not just nutritional deficiencies. Parents must safeguard their children’s growth in every aspect. Provide them with healthy and nutritious food, and ensure parents themselves maintain good health as well,” he explained.
This program is expected to create a significant positive impact and serve as a concrete example of how cross-sector collaboration can address the nutritional challenges of toddlers in Indonesia.
