SUKABUMI, INDONESIA – A wave of compassion reached Pesantren Baiti Jannati, located in Kampung Rawagede, Sukabumi City, through the generosity of donors collaborating with DT Peduli Sukabumi.

On Monday, July 22, 2025, the DT Peduli Sukabumi team delivered the results of a crowdfunding campaign: 29.5 sacks of rice were distributed to support 402 students—orphans, underprivileged children, and abandoned youth. In addition, the program provided Kafalah support (monthly stipends) for 24 Qur’an teachers who have dedicated their lives to educating and nurturing these students.

Founded in 2018, Pesantren Baiti Jannati began as a simple evening Qur’anic class for children in the neighborhood. Today, the pesantren has grown into a residential Islamic boarding school on a 3,000-square-meter land area—now serving as a home and a beacon of hope for hundreds of students.

Many of the students have been living at the pesantren since they were as young as five years old. For some, this institution has become their only home and family, with no knowledge of their biological relatives.

As the number of students continues to increase, the operational costs have also grown significantly. While the pesantren has initiated small business activities through a student cooperative (kopontren) to support its needs, these efforts are still insufficient to cover daily expenses.

The aid distributed by DT Peduli Sukabumi aims to alleviate the pesantren’s financial burden and serve as recognition and encouragement for the Qur’an teachers, whose contributions are vital in shaping the character and future of the students.

Ustadz Ahmad Faidlurohman, Head of Pesantren Baiti Jannati, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the donors:

“May Allah reward your kindness with abundant blessings in this world and grant you Paradise in the hereafter.”
