GAZA, PALESTINE—Amid the meaningful atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr, a new ray of hope shined in Gaza on Monday (April 1, 2025) with the signing of a lease agreement for the DT Peduli Gaza office in Deir Al-Balah.
The office location, just 150 meters from DT Mosque Gaza, was strategically chosen to facilitate better coordination of aid distribution and improve access for beneficiaries.
This moment stands as a symbol of humanitarian collaboration between Indonesia and Gaza, offering relief to civilians still suffering from years of conflict and serving as a tangible expression of global solidarity, particularly from the people of Indonesia.
The office will function as an operations center for priority programs, including support for orphans and the underprivileged, women empowerment, as well as the distribution of logistics and healthcare aid. DT Peduli also plans to launch emergency schools, mobile clinics, and skills training for refugees.
“We are designing an integrated data system to ensure aid reaches the most vulnerable,” explained Sheikh Ismail, a representative of DT Peduli Gaza.
Sheikh Yasin, Imam of DT Mosque Gaza and Head Representative of DT Peduli Gaza, emphasized that the presence of the new office is a starting point to build a brighter future in synergy with Indonesia. He also expressed deep gratitude to the Indonesian people.
“This aid is not just material support—it’s proof that Gaza is not alone. We will never forget the kindness of our Indonesian brothers and sisters who consistently reach out to us in difficult times. Thank you to DT Peduli Indonesia, K.H. Abdullah Gymnastiar (Aa Gym) as a key figure, and all the donors who have made solidarity a response to the suffering of Gaza’s people,” he said.
He hopes this cooperation will expand into long-term programs, such as the rehabilitation of damaged homes, clean water provision, and trauma healing centers. These supports are seen as crucial for the psychological and economic recovery of Gaza’s residents.
Toha, the property owner, also expressed his gratitude for the partnership.
“Indonesia is a fellow nation in faith that never stops supporting us. May this office become a place full of blessings and benefits for the people of Gaza,” he stated.
He also hoped the collaboration would continue into areas like infrastructure rehabilitation and clean water supply, as a sustainable form of solidarity.
The lease signing ceremony was conducted solemnly, attended by Sheikh Yasin and Sheikh Ismail representing DT Peduli Gaza, and Toha as the property owner. Several community figures were also present as witnesses, including local representatives.
The event concluded with a joint prayer, hoping this office would become a bridge of goodness, healing the wounds of war and spreading hope for a stronger Gaza, steadfast in devotion to Allah SWT.
