BATAM, INDONESIA – In a heartwarming celebration of compassion during the sacred month of Muharram, DT Peduli Riau Islands (Kepri) successfully held the “Belanja Bahagia” (Joyful Shopping) program in collaboration with PT Sumitomo and PT OSI. The event took place on Friday (July 26, 2025) at Hypermart Mega Mall Batam, bringing joy and smiles to 70 orphaned children.
The children, who came from various DT Peduli-supported communities, were invited to shop for personal needs such as school supplies and daily essentials. Joy and gratitude were visible on their faces as they experienced the excitement of choosing their items—many for the first time in their lives.
This program was made possible thanks to the full support of PT Sumitomo and PT OSI, whose contributions helped turn a simple act of giving into a meaningful experience for the children.
“Alhamdulillah, the event went smoothly, and the children were truly happy to choose what they needed. We deeply thank our donors for making this goodness possible,” said a representative from DT Peduli Kepri.
The event was not only a joyful outing but also a confidence booster, providing a sense of dignity, care, and belonging for the children. Moreover, it aimed to strengthen the emotional bonds between orphans and the wider community.
