SURABAYA – DT Peduli East Java (Jatim), in collaboration with the Surabaya branch of Ummi Foundation, has launched the Bina Tahsin Beasiswa Insan Qurani program, aimed at enhancing the quality of Qur’an teaching in Surabaya and surrounding areas through the sanad-based Ummi method.
The program takes place at the DT Peduli Jatim Qur’an Tahfiz House, Perhutani Housing No. F11, Sambikerep, Surabaya, with sessions held 12 times every Saturday, starting from Saturday, 30 August 2025.
A total of 12 participants are enrolled in the program, each projected to become Qur’an teachers in various educational institutions and community settings. The initiative seeks to eradicate Qur’anic illiteracy and strengthen the spread of Islamic values through systematic teaching methods.
“Alhamdulillah, this collaboration opens up great opportunities for Qur’an advocates to keep improving their recitation. Especially for those already teaching in Ummi-affiliated institutions, it helps them serve as role models and teach their students with the best recitation,” said Ustadzah Dewi, board member of the Ummi Foundation Surabaya branch.
DT Peduli provides full support in the form of training modules and facilities, while Ummi Foundation supplies certified trainers and facilitators.

Through this program, participants are expected to become competent Qur’an teachers who will contribute to raising a better Qur’anic generation in the future.
