PEMATANGSIANTAR – DT Peduli Siantar’s Rumah Peduli Yatim (Orphan Care Home) welcomed a special visit from personnel of the Regional Military Training Regiment (Rindam) I/Bukit Barisan as part of the 75th Anniversary celebration of Kodam I/BB on Thursday (June 12, 2025). The event, held at Jalan Kelapa Kuning No. 11A, Bantan Subdistrict, West Siantar District, was warmly received by the children and caretakers of the orphanage.
Led by Colonel Inf Sandy and his team, Rindam I/BB carried out a series of social service activities, including a communal lunch, the distribution of food packages, and a health service session (Bakti Kesehatan), which covered general check-ups, vitamin distribution, and an anti-smoking awareness campaign.
The initiative aimed to strengthen community bonds and foster social responsibility. In addition to easing the daily burdens of orphaned children, the event also supported their physical well-being and reinforced the connection between the military and local communities.
The children enthusiastically participated in the health services throughout the event and gratefully received donations. The warm and cheerful atmosphere reflected the spirit of care and generosity that underpinned the entire activity.
Captain Dr. M. Ramadhan, a representative from Rindam I/BB’s medical team, expressed his hopes that the event would bring meaningful benefits to the children.
“Alhamdulillah, we were welcomed with great warmth by the children and staff. We want to offer what we can to support children who may be less fortunate, so they know they’re not alone — many care. Thank you to the dedicated caretakers who nurture these children with love. May Allah SWT reward their efforts and bless the orphanage with abundant sustenance,” he said.
Novita Sani, Head of Rumah Peduli Yatim DT Peduli Siantar, also expressed deep gratitude for the support and attention provided.
“Thank you so much for the free medical check-ups and food packages. This has been an incredible blessing, especially for our children who sometimes struggle to afford basic needs or medical care. We hope these efforts will continue and reach more people in need. We also pray that the presence of the military officers inspires our children to live with health and discipline,” she shared.
