Rapid Response to Extreme Food Crisis: DT Peduli Launches Community Kitchen Serving 2,400 People in Northern Gaza

NORTHERN GAZA – With over two-thirds of the population facing extreme famine, DT Peduli provided emergency meals through its Community Kitchen Program in Northern Gaza on Sunday (2 November 2025) and Monday (3 November 2025). The initiative aims to serve warm, nutritious meals to those most severely affected.

The Community Kitchen served meals to 2,400 people over two days. The team prioritized families who lost access to food and cooking supplies due to the blockade and infrastructure damage. They focused on children, breastfeeding mothers, and elderly residents.

Conditions in Northern Gaza continue to deteriorate as food access remains cut off and families struggle to prepare meals independently. Ready-to-eat food has become a critical intervention to prevent acute hunger.

The field team handled food preparation and distribution with the utmost caution amid an unstable security environment. Each meal served was a direct emergency response to urgent nutritional needs.

“Every meal is prepared with careful consideration of its nutritional value, to help support the immunity of those receiving assistance amid extremely limited conditions,” said F. Arif, Assistant Manager for International Humanitarian Affairs at LPM DT Peduli.

According to Arif, the presence of DT Peduli’s Community Kitchen is not only about meeting basic needs but also represents the solidarity of the Indonesian people that reaches beyond borders.

“Each warm meal served through DT Peduli’s Community Kitchen is a tangible expression of compassion that transcends geography and circumstances,” Arif added.

He emphasized that the program reaffirms DT Peduli’s commitment to being on the front lines of humanitarian efforts in Gaza, ensuring that emergency food assistance reaches the most affected areas.

“This program is part of our continuous efforts to ease the burden on communities affected by the crisis, while ensuring that food aid is delivered to the areas in greatest need,” Arif stressed.
