GUNUNG KIDUL – Smiles of relief and happiness lit up the faces of residents in RT 01, Kedungpoh Kidul, Nglipar, as they welcomed the inauguration of a new clean water infrastructure held at the RT 01 field on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. This borewell facility is the result of a collaboration between PT Telkom and DT Peduli Yogyakarta, aiming to address the longstanding challenge of limited access to safe and affordable water.
The handover ceremony was warmly attended by local government officials, representatives from PT Telkom, DT Peduli Yogyakarta, and the local community. The facility is expected to reduce the residents’ dependence on costly water delivery services and improve their daily quality of life.
In her remarks, Sustiwiningsih, Subdistrict Head (Panewu) of Nglipar, expressed her gratitude and urged residents to care for this facility responsibly:
“Let’s work together to maintain and manage this facility so it can serve the community for years to come. Ongoing community participation is key to keeping it functional and sustainable—so we are no longer reliant on external assistance when issues arise,” she said.
Risal Rayadi, representative of PT Telkom Gunungkidul Area, also expressed appreciation and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to creating a positive social impact through CSR programs:
“We thank DT Peduli for being a trusted partner in channeling our CSR funding. May this collaboration bring real and lasting benefits to the community,” he stated.
Nur Ihsan Bashori, from DT Peduli Yogyakarta, added that technical mentoring would continue to ensure the community can manage the infrastructure independently:
“We want to make sure this facility serves as a long-term solution that empowers the community and improves their overall well-being,” he explained.
The inauguration marked a significant milestone in the collective efforts of corporate, nonprofit, and community collaboration—bringing clean water access and renewed hope to the people of Kedungpoh Kidul.
