TANAH DATAR — Recovery efforts for communities affected by flash floods and galodo in Tanah Datar Regency continue to receive support from various partners. On Friday (5 December 2025), PT Nei Indonesia, in collaboration with DT Peduli, distributed aid to 150 survivors in Nagari Padang Laweh Malalo.
The assistance consisted of 100 food packages, 50 blankets, and 100 packs of baby diapers. The distribution was led directly by Field Coordinator Muhammad Syukur Pangestu, supported by a joint team of volunteers who mobilized from the field post to the affected areas.
The galodo disaster—which swept through the Malalo region—occurred after heavy rain triggered a surge of materials from the hillsides, including large rocks and fallen trees, which were carried downstream into residential areas. The incident caused significant damage to homes and public facilities. An estimated 5,200 people were affected, with some residents temporarily forced to evacuate.
“Friends, today we are in Nagari Padang Laweh Malalo and have delivered several aid packages,” said one PT Nei Indonesia volunteer on site. He expressed hope that the assistance would help ease the burden on residents while awaiting further recovery measures from local authorities.
DT Peduli and PT Nei Indonesia reaffirmed their commitment to supporting disaster-affected communities, including during the next stages of recovery. In addition to distributing logistics, volunteers also conducted assessments to identify additional needs in areas that remain difficult to access.
Residents expressed gratitude for the support, particularly families with young children who urgently require basic supplies. The aid distribution is expected to accelerate recovery efforts and strengthen survivors’ spirits as they work to rebuild their lives.
