PEKANBARU – Pegadaian Regional Office II Pekanbaru, in collaboration with DT Peduli Riau, distributed food security packages to underprivileged residents in Labuh Baru Barat Subdistrict, Payung Sekaki District, Pekanbaru City, on Thursday (23 October 2025).
This initiative is part of Pegadaian Regional Office II’s regular program aimed at supporting communities in securing basic food supplies amid rising prices of essential goods.
A total of 25 beneficiaries attended the event and personally received the food packages from the Pegadaian and DT Peduli Riau teams. The distribution took place in a warm and heartfelt atmosphere.
One of the recipients, Syafrizal, expressed his deep gratitude upon receiving the aid.
“Alhamdulillah, we are truly grateful for the assistance from Pegadaian and DT Peduli Riau. With the prices of everything increasing, this food package means so much to us,” he said, with tears in his eyes.
In addition to distributing the packages, the DT Peduli Riau team also took time to engage with the local residents, listening to their stories and daily struggles to meet basic needs.
DT Peduli Riau representative and Program Coordinator, All Rehadis, explained that the food package distribution is part of Pegadaian’s ongoing social initiative.
“We hope that activities like this can continue sustainably and inspire other institutions, organisations, companies, and individuals to take part in helping those in need,” he said.
