PEKANBARU, Indonesia — DT Peduli Riau and ParagonCorp strengthened their commitment to environmental sustainability through a joint Mangrove Tree Planting Program at Okura Tourism Park, Jalan Tebing Tinggi, Okura Village, Rumbai Pesisir District, Pekanbaru City, on Sunday (2 November 2025).

The event brought together various stakeholders, including the Head of Climate Change and Domestic Solid Waste Management, Customer Business Development of ParagonCorp, and Head of DT Peduli Riau Office, along with Rumbai Pesisir Police Chief Budi Pramana, Riau Environmental Activist and Speaker Jony Setiawan Mundung, Chairman of the Okura Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), Paragonian representatives from DC Pekanbaru, DT Peduli Riau staff and volunteers, and local residents.

This program reflects a shared commitment to preserving the environment and supporting sustainable development in coastal areas. The commitment was embodied through the planting of 1,000 mangrove trees by Paragonian volunteers, DT Peduli Riau teams, invited guests, and community members.

We entrust these 1,000 mangrove trees to be cared for together for the sake of environmental sustainability. Mangroves not only protect against coastal abrasion but also serve as breeding grounds for fish. Our deepest gratitude to ParagonCorp for the trust and collaboration in this meaningful initiative,” said Windari Ade Fransiska, Head of DT Peduli Riau.

In line with the event’s theme, Jony Setiawan Mundung, environmental educator and speaker, emphasised the importance of youth participation in environmental conservation, describing it as a shared responsibility to safeguard the planet we all call home.

Meanwhile, Nanda Hidayat, Customer Business Development representative from ParagonCorp, expressed hope that this collaboration would foster collective awareness toward the environment.

“Through this activity, we hope to inspire everyone to become more environmentally conscious. May this collaboration serve as a real step toward protecting and nurturing our planet for a better future,” said Nanda.

At the closing ceremony, ParagonCorp symbolically handed over two vehicles — an ambulance and an operational car — to DT Peduli Riau. These vehicles will support DT Peduli’s ongoing social and humanitarian service programs across the region.
