NORTHERN GAZA – Amidst the shadow of acute hunger and despair, hot meals provided by DT Peduli continue to serve as a source of strength and hope for thousands of Palestinian refugees struggling to survive in displacement camps across Northern Gaza. On Sunday, 22 June 2025, DT Peduli’s field team distributed thousands of ready-to-eat rice meals with corned beef to families in desperate need.

While a simple meal of rice and canned meat may seem ordinary elsewhere, in war-torn Northern Gaza, it becomes a much-needed relief from crippling hunger. Each bite offers critical nourishment and energy—essential for enduring hardship and continuing to worship amid the unrelenting conflict.

This food distribution is not a one-time effort—it is part of DT Peduli’s ongoing humanitarian response in Gaza. The program ensures that war-affected families receive nutritious meals regularly, crucial support amid a worsening humanitarian emergency. For many, these meals are a lifeline.

Closed borders and severely limited access to basic supplies have worsened Gaza’s already dire conditions. The region faces extreme food shortages and skyrocketing inflation, making nutritious meals nearly impossible to obtain.

Many families, especially children, are enduring prolonged hunger throughout the day—especially painful during Gaza’s sweltering summer heat. Cases of malnutrition have surged, turning this crisis into a devastating humanitarian tragedy.

Tears filled the air during the food distribution at the camp. Zakariya, a 10-year-old boy, couldn’t hold back his emotions upon seeing the DT Peduli team arrive.

“Thank you,” he whispered with a trembling voice before calling his younger siblings out of their tent, eager to share the warm meal they had long awaited. His innocence highlighted how deeply valued such aid is in these circumstances.

Elsewhere, 65-year-old Wahab received his food package with trembling hands and teary eyes.

“Alhamdulillah, Ya Rabb… This is proof that Allah hears our prayers—both spoken and buried deep within our hearts,” he murmured gratefully. “Thank you to the donors from DT Peduli in Indonesia. Please send our warmest greetings and prayers to everyone there.”
DT Peduli’s field team continues their tireless efforts to reach even more people, with this particular initiative benefiting around 3,800 individuals. Just days earlier, the same team distributed Tikkiyah—a traditional hot soup—to 1,000 other refugees in Northern Gaza, bringing warmth and sustenance during harsh times.

Behind the emergency kitchens and grateful tears lies a flicker of hope. As one DT Peduli volunteer noted, the dream of a free, prosperous Palestine must remain alive.

“Let our compassion for Palestine never fade. Every donation we send is living proof that the ‘hands of kindness’ continue to reach Gaza—from Indonesia to the heart of humanity.”
