TANAH DATAR, WEST SUMATRA – To welcome the blessed month of Muharram 1447 H, Daarut Tauhiid (DT) Peduli West Sumatra organized a memorable and educational trip for orphaned children to Istana Basa Pagaruyung (Pagaruyung Palace) on Sunday, July 14, 2025. This initiative is part of the “Muharram Peduli Yatim” (Muharram Care for Orphans) program, aimed at creating meaningful moments for children in need during this sacred month.

Pagaruyung Palace, a cultural and historical icon of the Minangkabau people, was chosen for its rich heritage and deep philosophical values. During the visit, the children explored the traditional Minangkabau “rumah gadang” (big house) architecture and learned about the customary symbols and ancestral wisdom embedded within Minangkabau culture.

Halimahtus Sa’diyah, Program Manager of DT Peduli West Sumatra, emphasized that this activity was designed to provide both happiness and cultural education for the orphans during Muharram.

“We hope this program brings joy while also enriching the children with valuable knowledge. Pagaruyung Palace is not just a tourist destination—it’s a powerful space for cultural education, especially for the younger generation,” she said.

DT Peduli West Sumatra remains committed to delivering impactful, sustainable social programs—particularly those supporting vulnerable groups such as orphans and underprivileged children. This “Wisata Bahagia” (Joyful Excursion) serves as a tangible form of compassion and investment in the future of these children, by offering them positive and meaningful experiences to grow from.
