BANDAR LAMPUNG – DT Peduli Lampung, together with donors, has handed over a clean water facility in the form of a borehole well to Mushala (small prayer hall) As Sarmada, Gang Damai, Labuhan Dalam, Bandar Lampung, on Sunday (31 August 2025).

The handover ceremony was attended by various parties, including donor Siyono (owner of CV Jaya Bakery Lampung), Redi Ansah (Head of DT Peduli Lampung), Yusan Dikara (management of Mushala As Sarmada), and the local community.

The community expressed great joy, as As Sarmada—which is still under construction—finally has its own clean water source. During the construction period, water needs had to be borrowed from neighbors’ wells.

Before the prayer hall was built, residents had to travel nearly 1 kilometer to attend congregational prayers at the nearest mosque. The establishment of Mushala As Sarmada was made possible when a resident donated a plot of land in Gang Damai, which was then built collectively through community effort.

“We sincerely thank DT Peduli Lampung for visiting our Mushala, becoming a bridge to the donors, overseeing the construction, and ensuring that As Sarmada now has its own borehole. In shaa Allah, this will be of great benefit for the worshippers,” said Yusan Dikara.

The borehole project began with program assessment, geoelectric surveys, drilling, and piping installation connecting the well to the water tank and ablution area. Clean water was found at a depth of 55 meters with a strong flow. After three weeks of drilling, testing, and flushing, the facility was officially handed over by DT Peduli Lampung.

“By Allah’s permission, this borehole was successfully built at As Sarmada to fulfill the basic water needs of worshippers,” stated Redi Ansah in his remarks.

Donor Siyono also expressed his gratitude for the collaboration:

“On behalf of my family, I hereby hand over this borehole to Mushala As Sarmada. Alhamdulillah, the water is clean and plentiful. May it be well utilized for the benefit of the worshippers and the local community. We dedicate the reward to our late parents,” he said.

This clean water initiative reflects DT Peduli’s commitment to supporting the health and well-being of students in Islamic boarding schools. Since these students will grow to become future leaders and role models in society, ensuring access to clean water is a fundamental pillar for their development.
