JAKARTA, Indonesia — Students of the Rumah Tahfiz Qur’an (RTQ) DT Peduli Jakarta continue to maintain both physical and mental well-being through regular sports activities. Taking place at Blok S, South Jakarta, the santri enjoy access to a wide range of public sports facilities provided by the city, including football, futsal, basketball, volleyball courts, and a jogging track.
The program is held every Tuesday morning, and occasionally on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. It has become an important agenda amidst the students’ busy routines of Qur’an memorization and diniyah (Islamic studies) classes.
“Sports give the santri a refreshing break, while also fostering teamwork and discipline. It’s not only beneficial for their physical health but also supports their mental well-being,” said one of the RTQ Jakarta mentors.
Futsal remains the most popular sport, though students also enjoy jogging and occasionally swimming. These varied activities aim to provide an atmosphere that is educational, sportive, and recreational at the same time.
Beyond physical fitness, the program also plays a vital role in character building. Since many students live far from their families in the dormitory, maintaining both physical and mental balance is crucial.
Through this initiative, DT Peduli Jakarta hopes to nurture a Qur’anic generation that is healthy, strong, disciplined, and able to balance knowledge, worship, and well-being.
