JAKARTA – The Ilmu Cahaya Iman As Syafi’i Foundation, in collaboration with DT Peduli Jakarta, organized a heartwarming “Belanja Bahagia (Happy Shopping)” program for orphaned and underprivileged children on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at DIY Pasar Minggu, Jakarta.
The program involved 40 children (17 girls and 23 boys) and educators from Ilmu Cahaya Iman As Syafi’i Foundation, including Ustadz Faruk (Principal), Ustadz Syauqi, Ustadzah Fitri, Ustadzah Aulia, and Ustadzah Melati. Yoga Apriyadi, program officer, represented DT Peduli Jakarta, accompanied by four supporting team members.
The event began at the foundation’s premises, where the DT Peduli team warmly greeted the children and divided them into two groups: boys and girls. The group then proceeded to the second location at DIY Pasar Minggu, where the children enjoyed one full hour of shopping. Each child was given the freedom to choose personal items such as school supplies and clothing, all in an atmosphere filled with joy and excitement.
This Belanja Bahagia program represents DT Peduli’s commitment as a national zakat organization to bring happiness and care to orphaned and underprivileged children. The month of Muharram, known for its spiritual significance and blessings, was chosen for this initiative as it is a time when charitable acts are especially encouraged in Islam.
Riski, one of the beneficiaries, shared his gratitude:
“I’m thrilled today because I got new clothes and school supplies. Thank you so much to the DT Peduli team for taking us out and shopping with us. May Allah reward you for this kindness.”
Ustadz Faruk, Principal of the Ilmu Cahaya Iman As Syafi’i Foundation, also expressed his deep appreciation:
“We are truly thankful to DT Peduli Jakarta for their compassion toward our orphaned and underprivileged children. Programs like this not only bring happiness but also motivate the children to keep striving in their studies. We hope this beautiful collaboration continues in the future.”
