TUNIS – A warm spirit of brotherhood filled the historic Zaytuna Mosque, one of the oldest and most renowned mosques in the Islamic world, on Thursday (4 September 2025). Here, the Indonesian delegation held a meeting with several key Tunisian figures as part of preparations for the launch of the Global Sumud Flotilla, set to sail for Gaza.

The gathering brought together the Indonesian delegation with the Grand Mufti of Tunisia, the Tunisian Minister of Religious Affairs, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Tunisia. It served as a space to exchange encouragement, strengthen solidarity, and seek prayers for the humanitarian voyage to Gaza to be granted safety and success.

The moral support expressed by Tunisian leaders was a reminder that the struggle for Palestine is a universal cause that transcends borders and nations. The prayers offered at the Zaytuna Mosque affirmed the belief that this mission is not merely a physical journey, but also a deeply meaningful spiritual endeavor.

Jajang Nurjaman, CEO of DT Peduli, who was present in Tunisia for the departure of the volunteers, expressed his gratitude for being part of this historic mission.

“Alhamdulillah, I have just landed in Tunisia. God willing, I will join NGOs and humanitarian activists from more than 44 countries in the Indonesian Global Peace Convoy and the Nusantara Humanitarian Ship,” he shared emotionally.

He emphasized that the presence of the Indonesian delegation alongside the international community is a living testament to global solidarity. According to him, the Global Sumud Flotilla carries not only aid, but also a strong message of hope—that the world has not turned its back on the suffering of the Palestinian people.

“We will join this mission to deliver aid and help break the blockade on Gaza. Please keep us in your prayers, dear brothers and sisters, so that Allah grants ease, and may our brothers and sisters in Gaza soon gain their freedom. Allahu Akbar,” Jajang concluded.
