Northern Gaza, Palestine – A humanitarian aid convoy from SEAHUM (Southeast Asia Humanitarian Committee) finally arrived in Northern Gaza on Tuesday (January 21, 2025), amidst a ceasefire that has been in effect since Sunday (January 19, 2025).

The convoy, carrying 786 food packages and 24 tons of wheat flour, was welcomed with immense hope by the people of Northern Gaza. This aid was highly anticipated, especially after the siege that left 2.15 million people facing an IPC level 3 or higher food crisis.

On this critical occasion, SEAHUM collaborated with various Indonesian humanitarian organizations, including Rumah Zakat, DT Peduli, Laznas Dewan Dakwah, DMC Dompet Dhuafa, and LMI Zakat.

Additionally, SEAHUM partnered with YDSF KU, Global Humanity, MyCARE, and Wahdah Inspirasi Zakat for this large-scale convoy mission.

Arif, International Program Officer of DT Peduli, expressed his gratitude as local implementing partners in Gaza warmly welcomed the arrival of aid trucks.

“We sincerely hope this ceasefire will bring peace and allow humanitarian aid to reach our brothers and sisters in Gaza more easily.”
In his conversations, Arif consistently calls on the people of Indonesia to continue supporting the Palestinian cause.

“We hope this ceasefire can open broader access for humanitarian assistance,” he added.

Local partners in Gaza received the aid with deep gratitude, quoting verses from the Qur’an about the importance of sharing with others. They also extended their thanks to the people of Indonesia and Malaysia for their unwavering support.

“This ceasefire moment must be utilized to strengthen solidarity and support the recovery of Northern Gaza,” Arif emphasized.

This humanitarian aid is expected to ease the burden of the people of Gaza and serve as the first step toward a broader humanitarian effort in the region.
