PIDIE JAYA — DT Peduli Aceh has distributed logistical support to sustain the operations of a public kitchen in Berawang Village, Meureudu District, Pidie Jaya Regency, on Wednesday (3 December 2025).
The assistance is crucial for approximately 150 displaced families who rely entirely on the public kitchen for daily meals after their homes were severely damaged and flattened by the disaster.
Volunteers at the scene reported distressing conditions, with mud levels in residential areas ranging from 50 centimeters to 1.5 meters. The extensive damage has left the area in need of heavy machinery for cleanup.
“Today, the team is carrying out logistics distribution for the public kitchen in Berawang Village, Pidie Jaya. Several houses are destroyed, and thick mud still covers much of the settlement,” a DT Peduli Aceh volunteer reported.
A displaced mother, her voice filled with sorrow and urgent hope, described the hardship her family is facing.
“Please help us as soon as possible. We are in desperate need of rice and food supplies. We can’t even describe our situation anymore. Our home is gone—submerged and flattened,” she said, praying for strength and the hope of one day rebuilding a proper home.
As of this report, DT Peduli continues to focus on providing logistical support for the public kitchen in Berawang Village. The organization urges the wider community to extend their support—through prayers and contributions—so that recovery efforts in Pidie Jaya can progress swiftly.
