SUKOHARJO – DT Peduli Solo has officially commenced the drilling of an 80-metre-deep borehole well in Dusun Nandan, Karangwuni Village, Weru District, Sukoharjo Regency, on Tuesday (11/11/2025). This initiative reflects the concern and commitment of generous donors and DT Peduli Solo in providing a sustainable solution to the recurring annual drought that often impacts the area.
For years, the residents of Dusun Nandan have struggled to access clean water for daily needs, especially during the dry season when surface water sources dry up.
The borehole well is being constructed on the premises of Masjid Muttaqin in Dusun Nandan, with active involvement from local residents in determining the location. The 80-metre depth was chosen based on geological surveys to ensure the water obtained is of good quality and has a stable flow throughout the year, including during the dry season.
The community of Dusun Nandan warmly welcomed the presence of the borehole project. As an expression of gratitude for the start of the drilling process, villagers gathered for a thanksgiving and prayer ceremony, which was also attended by the village head and local officials.
Sri Margono, the Head of Karangwuni Village, expressed his gratitude, saying,
“On behalf of the people of Dusun Nandan, Karangwuni Village, I would like to express our deepest thanks, especially to the donors and DT Peduli Solo. May Allah reward all your kindness abundantly,” he said.
DT Peduli Solo hopes that this borehole well will be utilised and maintained properly by the local community, allowing it to become a source of ongoing benefit and a continuous stream of rewards for the donors and all parties involved in its development.
