WONOGIRI – In response to the ongoing drought crisis, DT Peduli Solo distributed 10 clean water tank trucks to assist residents of Songbledeg Village, Paranggupito Subdistrict, Wonogiri Regency, on Monday (September 29, 2025).
This area is known to experience severe annual droughts — in fact, during the 2022 crisis, many residents were forced to sell their valuables just to obtain clean water.
The DT Peduli Solo team delivered the water to several hamlets that had prepared storage containers in advance. Gratitude and joy filled the atmosphere as residents, who had been waiting for weeks, welcomed the arrival of clean water. Many could be heard saying, “Matursuwun sanget DT Peduli Solo” — meaning “Thank you very much, DT Peduli Solo.”
A local community leader, Haryanto, emphasized how essential water is for daily survival in Songbledeg Village. “Water is truly vital for life — for drinking, cooking, and washing. On behalf of all residents, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to all DT Peduli donors for their compassion and care for the people of Songbledeg,” he said.
Beyond the immediate water distribution, the DT Peduli Solo team also conducted a site survey in Bulu Hamlet, Songbledeg Village, to assess the feasibility of building a water reservoir — a long-term solution to help the community overcome its recurring water shortages.
