GAZA – The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is reaching a critical breaking point, with extreme hunger looming over nearly every corner of the region. According to the latest report from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), two out of three Gaza residents are now living under “catastrophe” conditions (IPC Phase 5) — the highest threshold of food insecurity classification.

Alarming data show that since April, more than 20,000 children have required treatment for acute malnutrition. By mid-August 2025, at least 235 malnutrition-related deaths had been recorded, including 106 children.

Amid this dire crisis, DT Peduli continues to demonstrate its commitment to alleviating the suffering of Gaza’s residents. Efforts have ranged from sending aid from outside the enclave to procuring food supplies and raw ingredients within Gaza itself — despite the skyrocketing prices and logistical barriers.

One such concrete action took place on Wednesday (30/7/2025), when 1,000 portions of hot meals were successfully distributed to those in need. The distribution focused on southern Gaza, particularly in the Khan Younis – Al Mawasi area, one of the main sites for displaced communities.

Every hot meal that reaches the hands of Gaza’s residents represents a long and challenging struggle. The program, which today provides a glimmer of relief for thousands, has gone through a complex process that took months to implement.

The plan for this aid initiative began at least three months ago. Amid the instability in Gaza, DT Peduli worked to ensure the program’s execution by considering multiple operational schemes, including partnerships with field-based organizations.

The devastating conditions in Gaza — compounded by scarce access to food supplies and frequent communication blackouts — presented significant obstacles. A full field report on the distribution only reached DT Peduli on Friday (15/8/2025).

“We are deeply grateful for the prayers and trust of our donors. Every stage of this program reflects the dedication and perseverance of our team, both behind the scenes and especially in the field. This is proof that the spirit of humanity will never fade, even in the face of the harshest storms,” said a DT Peduli representative.

DT Peduli remains committed to doing everything possible, collaborating with local and international partners, to ensure aid continues reaching those who need it most.

“As of now, we are still awaiting updates from the humanitarian bread program, which was launched at the same time. We kindly ask for your prayers so that these programs of compassion can keep flowing into Gaza, and in return, bring lasting blessings to all our donors,” the representative concluded.
