Gaza Faces Extreme Hunger, DT Peduli Distributes 2,250 Humanitarian Bread

November 2, 2025 | By Ilm/AID

NORTH GAZA – Amid an escalating food crisis, DT Peduli carried out the Humanitarian Bread Program, distributing 2,250 pieces of bread to residents in North Gaza over four days, from Friday (30/10/2025) to Sunday (2/11/2025). This initiative aims to provide instant and ready-to-eat nutritional support for families who have lost access to food supplies, clean water, and cooking facilities.

According to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), more than two-thirds of Gaza’s population are currently in the “Catastrophe” category (IPC Phase 5), indicating a state of severe hunger and extreme food insecurity. In this condition, survival relies almost entirely on emergency humanitarian aid.

Locally produced bread was distributed by DT Peduli’s volunteer team to various displacement centres and densely populated areas. Priority was given to vulnerable groups, including children, mothers, and the elderly.

The Humanitarian Bread Program serves as a rapid-response solution amid scarce supplies and the limited operation of public kitchens. Ilmira, DT Pedili’s representative, explained that despite security challenges and shortages of raw materials, the field team continues to do its utmost.

She emphasised that each loaf of bread received by the residents is more than just food—it is a symbol of compassion and solidarity from the Indonesian people, crossing borders and barriers. This program reinforces that Indonesian empathy remains alive, meaningful, and impactful for Palestine.

A DT Peduli volunteer directly involved in the distribution in Gaza shared that the bread has become an essential survival resource.

“We continue to provide essential bread as a lifeline for families and loved ones who remain steadfast in northern Gaza, and for those returning to this blessed land after being forcibly displaced within the Gaza Strip,” he said.

On behalf of the people of Gaza, he extended heartfelt appreciation and prayers for the donors.

“From here, from the north of the Gaza Strip, we express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to DT Peduli for this noble and blessed effort. We pray that Allah accepts what you have given and continues to bestow His blessings upon your sacrifices in His cause,” he concluded.
