SUKABUMI – Welcoming the blessed month of Muharram, DT Peduli Sukabumi held a joyful and meaningful Orphan Care Program involving 50 orphaned children from across Sukabumi. The event took place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in collaboration with Toserba Selamat, who generously hosted the program at their store.
Right after the Dzuhur prayer, the children’s excitement filled the air as they were warmly welcomed by DT Peduli volunteers. The event officially opened with a heartfelt and spirited ceremony, followed by a short religious talk (kultum) by Abi Rizki Ramdani, who emphasized the values of compassion and sharing with orphans.
The energy soared when Umi Nurul, a talented storyteller, began an interactive Islamic storytelling session. Her engaging style captivated the children, sparking laughter and smiles throughout the crowd. The kids then participated in fun and educational games designed to foster teamwork and joy.
One of the most anticipated moments was the “Happy Shopping” session, where the children explored Toserba Selamat and were allowed to pick out items they personally needed. After shopping, they enjoyed free ice cream, delicious noodles, and tried out various fun games and rides provided by the store.
This initiative was more than just about providing material aid—it was a memorable, happiness-filled experience that brought genuine joy and emotional warmth to the children.
“I’m so happy! I got to play, shop, eat ice cream, and even win prizes,” said Almaira, one of the participants.
“Usually, I just watch others shop. Now I get to shop too! Thank you,” said Fattan, beaming.
“My favorite was the games—and I loved the noodles too!” exclaimed Aiman, another excited child.
Ade Tirta, Head of DT Peduli Sukabumi’s Service Office, shared that the event was part of the organization’s continuous effort to spread love, joy, and emotional support to orphaned children.
“We want these children to feel more than just helped. We want them to feel seen, accompanied, and cherished. That’s why we created a joyful and interactive experience—not just a handout. We sincerely thank Toserba Selamat and our donors for supporting this meaningful program,” said Ade Tirta.
DT Peduli Sukabumi remains committed to being a bridge of kindness between donors and those in need—especially for children growing up without parental care—ensuring they feel supported both physically and emotionally.
