SUKABUMI — In a small, remote village deep within Sukabumi Regency, the gentle recitation of Qur’anic verses can be heard from a modest home. This home belongs to Ratih Indriyani, a graduate of the DT Peduli Sukabumi Qur’an Learning House (Rumah Tahfidz Qur’an), who now dedicates her life to teaching Qur’an to the children in her village. Despite living with a physical disability, Ratih has become a source of inspiration for many because of her unwavering commitment to spreading Qur’anic knowledge amid all limitations.
Every afternoon, nearly 40 children gather in her simple home, which has been transformed into a small learning space. The lively and spirited atmosphere reflects the dedication of a young teacher who teaches sincerely, without expecting anything in return. Beyond teaching children in her immediate surroundings, Ratih has now been entrusted with the role of Qur’an instructor at the local Madrasah Tsanawiyah, a testament to the growing recognition and appreciation from her community.
The journey from Sukabumi City to Ratih’s village takes about 2 to 2.5 hours, passing through damaged and muddy roads. During the rainy season, reaching the location becomes even more challenging. Yet, her spirit of dakwah never fades.
Recognizing her remarkable efforts, on Wednesday (29 October 2025), DT Peduli Sukabumi came bearing tangible support: 34 study desks, two thick carpets, and kafaah (financial assistance) entrusted by caring donors who support Qur’an teachers in remote areas. This support enabled Ratih to provide a more comfortable and effective learning environment, directly benefiting both Ratih and her students by enhancing their educational experience.
“I only hope that children in this village can learn the Qur’an from an early age. Even though my home is simple, I pray that this place becomes a pathway of goodness for them,” Ratih expressed gratefully.
The assistance provided to Ratih is more than just materials—it is a form of appreciation for the dedication and resilience of a Qur’an teacher serving in a remote area. Through the Peduli Guru Ngaji Program, DT Peduli Sukabumi remains committed to offering hope and support to Qur’an educators across the country, so that the light of the Qur’an never dims—even in places far from the noise of the city. Join us in supporting committed teachers like Ratih and help ensure that the light of the Qur’an continues to reach every corner of our nation.
