SOUF, JORDAN – Amid the harsh realities of life as refugees, Palestinian children in Souf Camp, Jordan, have found a renewed sense of hope through education at Markaz Tahfidz Daarut Tauhiid (DT).

This school not only focuses on Qur’an memorization but also integrates character-building to shape a strong, visionary generation of future leaders.

Founded in 2018 and operational since 2019, Markaz Tahfidz Daarut Tauhiid has become a beacon of education for Palestinian refugee children.

This elementary and junior high-level institution has successfully produced young Qur’an memorizers—some as early as 4th grade, with students having memorized up to 24 Juz of the Qur’an.

Speaking on Sunday (March 9, 2025), Sheikh Ahmad, Head of the Foundation that manages the Markaz, shared:

“Alhamdulillah, even though this is a formal school, Qur’an memorization starts from an early age. In addition, we teach character building so that the children are not only good at memorizing but also possess strong morals and leadership skills to build the future of Palestine.”

H. Wahyu Prihartono, Supervisor of DT Peduli Foundation, who visited the school, expressed deep admiration.

“We were deeply moved to see the daily activities of the children here. They study with great spirit, memorize the Qur’an, and develop their character. This proves how crucial education is in shaping a generation that will one day rebuild Palestine and liberate Al-Aqsa,” he said.

As a humanitarian organization actively supporting education in conflict zones, DT Peduli extended its appreciation for the accomplishments of Markaz Tahfidz.

“May Allah bless and reward the donors and the DT community who have contributed to building this tahfidz school. Aamiin,” added H. Wahyu Prihartono.
Next Steps: A Vision for Continued Learning

DT Peduli is now opening up opportunities for the public to contribute towards the development of a new secondary school—Madrasah Bushola, located not far from the current Markaz Tahfidz.

“Why education? Because the collapse of education can lead to the collapse of an entire civilization,” emphasized H. Wahyu Prihartono.

Madrasah Bushola is envisioned as a continuation of the educational journey started at the Markaz, offering junior and senior high school-level education to Palestinian youth.

This program is expected to strengthen the foundation of education and character development, preparing Palestinian youth to become leaders capable of rebuilding their homeland.

Through the combination of tahfidz education, character building, and the construction of advanced schools, both Markaz Tahfidz DT and Madrasah Bushola are preparing a resilient new generation.

This initiative is living proof that education is the most powerful weapon to change the destiny of a nation.
