From Indonesia to Palestine: 65 Zakat Institutions Collaborate to Deliver Thousands of Aid Packages to Gaza by Air
AMMAN – In coordination with Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 65 Zakat Management Organizations (LAZ) have forged a strategic collaboration with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force and the Government of Jordan to deliver urgent humanitarian aid directly to the people of Gaza.
As part of this international effort, DT Peduli contributed 2,304 food packages, prepared for air delivery to Gaza. This replaces the initial plan of sending 1,536 packages by land and 768 by air, in response to increasing restrictions.
The aid is being transported via air bases in the UAE and Jordan, using the UAE Air Force’s airdrop system with parachutes capable of carrying 500–1,000 kilograms per pallet. Each package is wrapped in red and white—the colors of the Indonesian flag—emblazoned with the words “From Indonesia to Palestine”, serving as both an identifier and a symbol of solidarity.
The distribution of aid from all 65 LAZ, including DT Peduli’s contribution, is scheduled in stages from Thursday (28 August 2025) through Tuesday (9 September 2025). All drop zones have been pre-secured by teams on the ground to ensure safe delivery.
Jajang Nurjaman, President Director of DT Peduli, emphasized that the decision to channel aid by air was made to ensure faster, direct delivery to Gaza residents, bypassing blockades along land and sea routes. Each food package is valued at approximately Rp750,000 (around USD 45), with an estimated 11,520 people set to benefit.
“May Allah protect our brothers and sisters in Gaza, and may He grant us sustenance that allows us to continue helping them,” Jajang concluded.
