Enthusiastic Response in Gowa! DT Peduli Provides Free Medical Services at Syekh Yusuf Car Free Day

GOWA – The atmosphere at Car Free Day (CFD) in the Syekh Yusuf area, Gowa Regency, was especially lively on Sunday morning (14 September 2025). In addition to being a space for exercise and recreation, this week’s CFD featured free medical services provided by DT Peduli South Sulawesi (Sulsel).

The health services offered included blood pressure checks, cholesterol tests, uric acid checks, and blood sugar screenings. From early morning, residents enthusiastically lined up at the free medical booth to have their health conditions examined.

Hasmirah, Program Manager of DT Peduli Sulsel, explained that the initiative reflects DT Peduli’s concern for public health:

“We want to make it easier for people to access basic health screenings, especially for those who may rarely or never visit health facilities. We hope this can be beneficial and a collective effort in maintaining good health,” she said.
Sofyan, one of the residents who took advantage of the service, expressed his gratitude:

“Alhamdulillah, this really helped me. I can now know my health condition without having to go to the clinic or hospital. Thank you so much to DT Peduli, and I hope this program can be held regularly,” he said with a relieved smile.

The presence of these free medical services not only provided direct health benefits but also raised awareness among residents about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and early disease detection.

Through this simple yet impactful step, DT Peduli hopes the community will become more proactive in caring for their health and that of their families. The Syekh Yusuf CFD thus became more meaningful—not only as a place for exercise but also as a space to share benefits with all.
