Easing the Burden of Small Traders and Rickshaw Drivers: DT Peduli Malang Distributes Fidyah to Local Residents

MALANG – DT Peduli Malang once again demonstrated its commitment to serving the community by distributing fidyah (compulsory charitable meals) to 44 underprivileged beneficiaries on Friday (22 August 2025). The recipients included small traders, rickshaw drivers, and elderly residents living around the DT Peduli service office on Jl. Puntodewo VI, Polehan, Blimbing District, Malang City.

Life’s daily challenges make these groups a priority for DT Peduli. For small traders, the support provides a meaningful supplement amid uncertain daily earnings. Rickshaw drivers—often waiting long hours for passengers—also welcomed the assistance, while elderly residents relying on small-scale livelihoods expressed heartfelt gratitude for the relief.

The distribution ran smoothly and was met with enthusiasm, with residents arriving early despite the need to wait their turn. Beneficiaries expressed sincere appreciation, recognising that the support helped ease their daily food needs.

“We are truly grateful to the donors and DT Peduli for extending this assistance. May you all be blessed with success in every endeavour,” said Supriyati, one of the recipients, her face filled with joy.

Beyond meeting essential needs, the fidyah distribution also strengthened the bond between DT Peduli and the local community.

“This fidyah is part of the trust placed in us by donors, and it reflects DT Peduli’s care for the people living nearby. We hope that it not only lightens their burden but also nurtures closer ties with the community,” said Joko Cahyono, Head of DT Peduli Malang Service Office.
