SUKABUMI, INDONESIA — A dedicated team from DT Peduli Sukabumi undertook a three-hour journey from downtown Sukabumi to distribute canned qurban meat to residents of an indigenous village in Kampung Cipagon, located in Sirna Resmi Village, Cisolok Subdistrict, Sukabumi Regency, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Kampung Cipagon is a traditional community known for its deep-rooted cultural values and simple way of life. Due to economic hardship, the community was unable to conduct qurban animal slaughter this year. Recognizing this need, DT Peduli prioritized the village as a recipient of its Canned Meat Charity Program.

The aid consisted of ready-to-eat canned beef and lamb, carefully packaged for long-term storage and hygienic consumption. Ade Tirta, Head of the DT Peduli Sukabumi Branch, led the team to the village, personally engaging with residents and ensuring the aid was delivered directly into their hands.

“This program is our effort to ensure that, even in the absence of qurban slaughter this year, the community can still enjoy the blessing of qurban meat. It’s not just about food—it’s a gesture of love and compassion,” said Ade Tirta.

The DT Peduli team was welcomed warmly by the locals. Children, mothers, and the elderly expressed visible joy, with some becoming emotional as they received the canned meat packages.

“We’re truly grateful. We couldn’t carry out qurban this year, so this assistance is incredibly meaningful and brings joy to our people,” said Atok, the head of the Cipagon community.

In addition to distribution, Ade Tirta also provided a brief educational session on how to store and prepare the canned meat safely, ensuring that the aid could be used effectively and beneficially by the community.

This program reflects the synergy between DT Peduli and generous donors, united in their mission to reach out to remote, underserved areas and bring blessings and nourishment to those most in need.

“We encourage everyone to support humanitarian programs like this. Every contribution, no matter how small, can bring immense hope to our brothers and sisters in remote communities,” said Gina Muharram, Program Officer at DT Peduli Sukabumi.
