DT Peduli Opens Public Kitchen in Gaza, Serving Hope Amid Crisis
Volunteers prepare and pack hot meals for distribution in Northern Gaza.
NORTHERN GAZA – In the heart of a growing hunger crisis in Northern Gaza, DT Peduli has swiftly launched its Open Kitchen Program, delivering vital relief to hundreds of people in dire need. This initiative offers not only warm, ready-to-eat meals but also a beacon of hope to those living under extreme hardship.
DT Peduli’s dedicated volunteers prepare hundreds—sometimes thousands—of portions of seasoned rice with corned beef, cooked in large cauldrons right at the distribution site. Each meal is carefully packed in hygienic foil containers to ensure cleanliness and ease of distribution. This effort is especially critical, as access to nutritious food in Northern Gaza has become severely limited.
A total of 5,800 meals are planned for distribution throughout June 2025. Deliveries have already taken place successfully on Wednesday (18 June), Thursday (19 June), and Sunday (22 June). This program stands as a powerful testament to solidarity and compassion from the people of Indonesia for their Palestinian brothers and sisters enduring unimaginable hardship.
One of the refugees, Ummu Ahmad, tearfully expressed her deep gratitude after receiving a meal through the Open Kitchen program.
“This is more than just food—it’s a light of hope in our darkness,” she said, her voice trembling. “Seeing aid arrive here in the north feels like a miracle.”
Accessing aid in Northern Gaza is a major challenge. Most international humanitarian assistance is directed to the southern areas, especially via the Rafah border crossing. As a result, the northern region—devastated and isolated—is often overlooked. Very few aid convoys manage to navigate the dangerous routes to reach the stranded and desperately needy residents.
A DT Peduli partner in the field shared:
“Alhamdulillah, with sincere support from the people of Indonesia through DT Peduli, we are currently preparing warm meals to distribute across refugee camps in Northern Gaza. These families are facing extremely difficult conditions and have been forced to flee their homes.”
He added that this initiative brings not just nourishment, but renewed hope—and hopefully inspires more people around the world to take part in such humanitarian missions.
“What you donate today can ease their suffering and provide a deeply meaningful sense of hope. I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all donors and DT Peduli for their generous contributions. May Allah SWT accept every act of kindness. Jazakumullahu khairan, and thank you, Indonesia.”
