CENTRAL TAPANULI – DT Peduli North Sumatra (Sumut) took part in the Kick-Off Ceremony for the inauguration of the Kampung Zakat (Zakat Village) Program in Jago Jago Village, Badiri Subdistrict, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province, on Tuesday (11 November 2025).
The event was attended by the Deputy Regent of Central Tapanuli, the Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office (Kakankemenag) of Central Tapanuli, Forum Zakat (FOZ) North Sumatra, fisheries experts from STPKM Perikanan Central Tapanuli, and the residents of Jago Jago Village.
During the ceremony, DT Peduli North Sumatra distributed five food-aid packages to underprivileged families in the village. This contribution forms part of the broader collaboration among zakat institutions to support community welfare through the Kampung Zakat initiative.
One of the beneficiaries, Sukri Tanjung, expressed his gratitude for the support delivered by DT Peduli Sumut.
“Thank you to DT Peduli North Sumatra for its contribution to improving the economy of the residents of Jago Jago Village through the Kampung Zakat Program and the distribution of these food packages. May this initiative bring blessings to DT Peduli Sumut and other zakat institutions,” said Sukri.
The establishment of the Kampung Zakat in Central Tapanuli is expected to serve as a sustainable model of collaboration between the government, zakat institutions, and the community in building economic self-reliance.
Salman Lubis, representing DT Peduli North Sumatra, conveyed his hopes that the program will bring meaningful impact to the local community.
“May the inauguration of the Kampung Zakat and the distribution of food aid bring blessings and serve as a tangible step toward community empowerment and poverty alleviation in Jago Jago Village,” he stated.
