PASURUAN – Tuesday, June 24, 2025, was a day filled with joy for Suparti. Parked neatly in front of her modest home was a cart labeled “Kupang Rizqi Barokah.” More than just a tool for selling food, the cart symbolized an answered prayer — a ray of hope amid the deep challenges she had been facing.

The cart was provided by DT Peduli Malang through its Small Business Empowerment Program (UMKM). For Suparti, it marked a new beginning after her husband — the family’s only breadwinner — lost his job. Faced with uncertainty, she remained steadfast, relying on her tiny home kitchen as her main source of survival.

Despite living in a remote village far from the city, Suparti never gave up. She continued to prepare her signature kupang (a traditional East Javanese seafood dish) by hand, selling it from home, fulfilling orders from neighbors, and holding onto her faith in Allah. She remained devoted to dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and salawat, and joined the One Week One Juz (OWOJ) Qur’an recitation circle — patiently asking for His help through every hardship.

“When that difficult time came, I could only surrender to Allah. I didn’t know what to do, but I believed He sees everything. Alhamdulillah… now I have this cart. I never imagined this could happen,” Suparti said tearfully.

With her new cart, Suparti can now reach more customers — no longer relying solely on sales from home. She can go around the village and even visit nearby communities to share her delicious, heartfelt cooking.

“With this cart, I hope I can reach more people. May Allah bless DT Peduli and all the donors for their generosity, and may they continue spreading benefit to even more people,” she added sincerely.

Suparti’s story is a moving reminder that hope can rise from even the humblest places. From a small kitchen and whispered prayers, Allah sends help through the hands of those who care.

There are many more like Suparti — resilient individuals who only need a small push to rebuild their lives. Let’s be part of their prayers. Because sometimes, one simple cart can be the start of something extraordinary.
