JAKARTA – Floods once again struck Jati Padang, South Jakarta, submerging dozens of homes and affecting hundreds of residents. In a rapid response, DT Peduli Jakarta immediately deployed a team to the location on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, to conduct evacuations and distribute emergency aid to the victims.

Led by Ibnu Sofyan Ats-Tsauri, Program Manager of DT Peduli Jakarta, along with Ustadz Ubaid from the DT Peduli Regional Board (BPD), the volunteer team mobilized early in the morning. They coordinated with local authorities, including neighborhood chief Yusuf and community leader Hasanah, to ensure a smooth evacuation process and accurate distribution of aid.

A total of 80 families were affected by the disaster. While there were no reported casualties, many homes were submerged and damaged. Residents were forced to evacuate and lost access to food and essential hygiene supplies.

As part of this humanitarian mission, DT Peduli distributed 256 ready-to-eat corned beef meal packs for immediate food needs, along with IDR 5,000,000 in cash assistance for the procurement of public kitchen supplies and cleaning equipment.

“Flooding is not just about rising water—it’s about compassion and taking real action. Our presence here reflects our solidarity and humanitarian responsibility,” said Ibnu Sofyan Ats-Tsauri.

This initiative reflects DT Peduli’s ongoing commitment to responding to disasters swiftly, efficiently, and in a way that directly addresses the needs of affected communities.
