GARUT – DT Peduli Garut has started procuring 30 qurban sheep in Garut on Tuesday (14 October 2025) for Eid al-Adha 1448 Hijri.
This initiative marks the first step by DT Peduli Garut to facilitate the community in performing the qurban ritual, strengthening social bonds (ukhuwah), and promoting social compassion. The program also involves five experienced local livestock farmers to ensure proper animal care and management.
These farmers are responsible for providing quality feed, maintaining the health of the sheep, and ensuring that every animal meets all sharia requirements — including age, physical condition, and freedom from defects or disease.
Sandi, the Coordinator of the Qurban Program at DT Peduli Garut, explained that this effort not only focuses on the religious implementation of qurban but also serves as a means to empower the local farming economy and support food security.
“We hope this qurban program brings multiple benefits — fostering self-reliance and improving the welfare of local farmers. We have also scheduled routine maintenance and health checks to ensure all sheep are ready for slaughter on the designated day,” said Sandi.
In addition to early-stage livestock procurement, DT Peduli Garut is also inviting the community and donors to take part in supporting this year’s qurban program — through financial contributions, active participation, or prayers — so that the entire process may run smoothly and be filled with blessings.
