BOGOR — As an expression of compassion for the recent tragedy in Bogor Regency, DT Peduli Bogor distributed logistical assistance to support the ongoing search for a young man named Fahruddin (20), who was reported missing after being swept away in the Cikaniki River, located in Cisarua Village, Nanggung District, on Thursday (October 2, 2025).
The assistance was provided to help meet the basic needs of volunteers and the joint SAR team, who have been tirelessly conducting search operations since the incident occurred on Sunday (September 28, 2025).
The victim was reportedly swept away after slipping while attempting to cross the river on his way to a nearby stall. Witnesses stated that the strong current carried him away and that he has not yet been found. One witness, Yadin (35), recounted seeing the victim slip and get pulled downstream. Since then, local residents and rescue teams have continued to comb the river in hopes of finding Fahruddin soon.
Through this initiative, DT Peduli Bogor extended both moral and logistical support to the volunteers working relentlessly in the field. The distributed aid included ready-to-eat meals, bottled water, instant noodles, canned sardines, and other necessities.
Maribaya, a representative of DT Peduli Bogor, emphasized that the assistance reflects empathy and solidarity with those affected by the tragedy. “May this support help ease the burden of the volunteers and facilitate the ongoing search efforts,” she said.
In addition to providing assistance, DT Peduli also urged the public to remain vigilant of potential dangers near rivers, especially during the rainy season. The organization further encouraged the community to pray for Fahruddin’s safe recovery and for strength for his family in facing this difficult time.
