BEKASI – To celebrate the blessed month of Muharram 1447 H, DT Peduli Bekasi, in collaboration with PT Riung, organized a heartwarming Shopping with Orphans and Underprivileged Children program. The cheerful activity took place on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Alfamart Jakasetia, South Bekasi.
A total of 11 children—orphans and those from underprivileged backgrounds—enthusiastically took part in the event. They were given the freedom to pick out school supplies such as stationery, as well as enjoy their favorite snacks and drinks.
Annisa, Distribution Program Staff at DT Peduli Bekasi, shared that this event aimed to spread joy and ease the burden on children, especially during this sacred month.
“We hope this program helps the children feel happiness and renewed spirit as they return to school. It’s also a tangible expression of our shared concern, together with PT Riung, for those in need,” she said.
Bright smiles lit up the faces of the children who joined. One of the participants, Naira (10), expressed her excitement:
“I’m so happy to shop for new books and stationery, especially since school is starting again. Thank you, DT Peduli and PT Riung!” she exclaimed.
This Shopping with Children program is expected to become a recurring initiative by DT Peduli Bekasi and its partners, as a meaningful way to spread kindness and create a lasting impact in the community.
