BANDUNG – DT Peduli Bandung, through Rumah Peduli Yatim (RPY), held a Friday Sermon Training at the RPY Daarut Tauhiid Hall, Bandung, on Saturday (18 October 2025).
The activity was filled with enthusiasm and excitement from the participating santri (Islamic students), most of whom are currently in vocational high school.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and shalawat, followed by sermon practice sessions conducted alternately by the participants.
Each santri had the opportunity to step onto the pulpit, deliver their sermon material, and receive direct feedback from the trainers.
One of the santri expressed his feelings after his turn to preach:
“At first, I was nervous, but Alhamdulillah, it became a valuable experience and preparation for me to deliver sermons in my hometown,” he said.
The Friday Sermon Training aimed to equip santri with public speaking skills, build their confidence in dakwah (Islamic preaching), and prepare them to become young khatibs (preachers) ready to serve their communities.
RPY DT mentor, Ustadz Kamal, highlighted the importance of the program for santri development.
“This kind of training helps strengthen the students’ mentality and preaching abilities from an early age so that they can grow into a generation that contributes positively to the ummah,” he said with enthusiasm.
