SUKABUMI, Indonesia — The National Zakat Institution (LAZNAS) DT Peduli, together with the Sukabumi People’s Alliance, organized a solidarity action for Palestine at Lapangan Merdeka, Sukabumi City, on Sunday (31 August 2025). The event brought together diverse groups from the Sukabumi People’s Alliance for Palestine, who gathered enthusiastically in the morning, carrying posters and banners expressing support and prayers for the Palestinian people.
In addition to collective prayers, the action also featured a fundraising campaign. According to the committee, donations collected reached IDR 18,500,000. The funds will be distributed through DT Peduli Sukabumi and Sehati Gerak Bersama to help ease the burden of Palestinian families.
The Mayor of Sukabumi, Ayep Zaki, was also present and expressed his deep appreciation for the people’s solidarity and orderly participation during the event.
“I highly value the concern of the Sukabumi community for the humanitarian issue in Palestine. As mayor, I fully support positive initiatives like this, because the Palestinian struggle is a humanitarian struggle that we must stand behind together,” Ayep said.
Field Coordinator of the action, Budi Jasma, emphasized that the solidarity event was not only a symbol of concern but also a way to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood across nations. The enthusiasm shown by the people of Sukabumi reflects how the values of humanity and solidarity remain alive within society.
