BANDUNG — DT Peduli, in collaboration with the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), organized a Household Waste Management Training Program focused on sorting and Processing Organic Waste (Composting). The event took place at the At-Taqwa Mosque Hall, Jl. Cibunut, Sumur Bandung District, Bandung City, on Friday (14/11/2025).
The training was attended by several key figures, including a Member of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), BPKH leadership, the Chairperson of Generasi Semangat Selalu Ikhlas Foundation, the Secretary of DT Peduli Foundation, and representatives from several neighborhood community units (RW).
This program was initiated as an effort to reduce the burden of urban waste, particularly organic waste, which contributes the largest portion to household waste volume. The atmosphere of the training was enthusiastic, with participants receiving explanations on basic sorting techniques, hands-on practice of composting using a bucket planter composter, and strategies for two-month post-training assistance.
In her remarks, Tini Martini Tapran, Chairperson of the Generasi Semangat Selalu Ikhlas Foundation, emphasized the importance of waste sorting at the source and processing organic waste into compost.
“Organic waste that is not managed properly can cause unpleasant odors, pollution, and even contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, this program not only provides education but also ensures that the community is truly capable of managing household waste independently,” she added.
Through this training, DT Peduli and BPKH reaffirm their commitment to being actively involved in sustainable environmental solutions and delivering tangible benefits to the people of Bandung City.
