Mentoring session for 'Organiku' SME in Kulon Progo

KULON PROGO, Indonesia — DT Peduli continues its commitment to strengthening local enterprises through the mentoring of “Organiku,” an outstanding SME focused on organic farming. On Thursday (14 August 2025), the program was held at Kampung Akhlak Banjararum and attended by five beneficiaries who are part of the agricultural-based business group. This initiative underscores DT Peduli’s mission to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of SMEs in developing eco-friendly and economically valuable products.

During this session, the mentoring team and group members discussed strategic plans for business development, including a benchmarking visit to successful SMEs in other regions. The aim is to enable participants to directly learn best practices in organic product processing, packaging, marketing, and professional business management. It is hoped that after the benchmarking, the group will be able to apply innovations and improve the quality of “Organiku” products to be more competitive in the market.

Novi, Program Manager of DT Peduli Yogyakarta, highlighted the importance of this agenda as a practical learning opportunity.

“We want the members not only to understand concepts but also to see firsthand how other SMEs manage their businesses. This way, they can adopt relevant strategies to strengthen Organiku. Benchmarking will also expand networks and open up collaboration opportunities,” she explained.

Sukarjo, one of the group members, shared his positive experience in developing environmentally friendly innovations.

“By applying eco-enzyme methods, we can better decompose chicken manure. The result is organic fertilizer that benefits crops. This helps us reduce waste while supporting sustainable agriculture,” he said enthusiastically.

Through continuous mentoring and the planned benchmarking program, “Organiku” is expected to keep innovating, improve product quality, and bring greater benefits to the surrounding community. The initiative not only focuses on economic empowerment but also emphasizes environmental sustainability through eco-friendly practices.
