BOGOR — The DT Peduli Bogor team swiftly responded to a devastating fire that destroyed the Hiswah Islamic Boarding School in the Billabon area of Bojong Gede, Bogor Regency, on Tuesday (October 28, 2025).
According to reports from DT Peduli Bogor volunteers at the scene, the fire was triggered by an electrical short circuit from a power outlet in one of the students’ rooms around 11:00 a.m. Sparks quickly ignited a pile of mattresses, and due to the building’s wooden structure, the fire spread rapidly, burning about 90% of the dormitory.
Fortunately, all students managed to escape safely before local firefighters arrived to extinguish the blaze.
In response to the tragedy, DT Peduli Bogor immediately distributed first-phase emergency assistance, including cleaning supplies, food packages, prayer equipment, mattresses, and personal hygiene items.
A representative from DT Peduli Bogor, Maribah, stated that the team’s focus was to provide direct, useful solutions for the students and school administrators by ensuring that their essential needs were met.
“Alhamdulillah, there were no casualties or injuries in this incident. We pray that the students can recover quickly and soon have a proper dormitory to continue their learning,” said Maribah.
