BATAM — As a form of care for the community, Grand Batam Mall, in collaboration with DT Peduli Kepri, distributed 70 packages of essential food supplies to residents on several islands around Nongsa District, Batam City, on Wednesday (September 24, 2025).
The 70 food packages were delivered to residents living on Kubung Island, Air Mas Island, and Selat Desa Island. This initiative reflects a meaningful collaboration between the private sector and a humanitarian organization to reach underprivileged communities in remote coastal areas.
The aid distribution team consisted of seven members — four representatives from Grand Batam Mall and three from DT Peduli Kepri. To reach the beneficiaries, the team had to cross the sea from Tanjung Punggur Public Port, Nongsa, to Kubung Island, which served as the main distribution point.
The aid was symbolically handed over by Tugiman, Head of the Al Afdhol Grand Batam Mall Mosque Committee. Local residents warmly welcomed the presence of the Grand Batam Mall and DT Peduli Kepri teams.
One of the beneficiaries, Nurlina, expressed her heartfelt gratitude. “We sincerely thank Grand Batam Mall and DT Peduli Kepri for this food assistance. It truly means a lot to us,” said Nurlina.
