BANDA ACEH – The atmosphere at the Friday prayer in Nurul Huda Mosque, Simpang BPKP, Banda Aceh, on Friday (8 August 2025) felt different. After the prayer, a special fundraising drive was held to support the people of Palestine, who are currently facing a severe humanitarian crisis.
The initiative was warmly received by the congregation. Volunteers circulated among the worshippers carrying donation boxes, while mosque officials encouraged participation. In a short time, the boxes began to fill, reflecting the enthusiasm and generosity of the attendees.
The fundraising focused on meeting urgent needs for the Palestinian people, including food supplies, clean water, medicine, and emergency equipment. All donations will be channelled through official and trusted avenues to ensure they reach those most in need.
One worshipper, Toni, expressed his gratitude for being able to contribute.
“Thank you for constantly reminding us about Palestine. May this become a deed that saves us in the hereafter,” he said.
The Nurul Huda Mosque committee stated that fundraising efforts would continue regularly, considering the ongoing dire situation in Palestine. They hope the public’s compassion will not be short-lived, but will remain strong in maintaining care and solidarity.
This fundraising drive successfully gathered significant contributions from the hundreds of worshippers present. With collective support and compassion, it is hoped that the aid collected will help ease the suffering of the Palestinian people and serve as a reminder that the bonds of the ummah transcend distance and national borders.
