Building BAKU Character: DT Peduli Malang Holds Orientation & Coaching for Scholarship Recipients

MALANG – DT Peduli Malang conducted a comprehensive orientation and character development session for both new and existing university scholarship recipients on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the DT Peduli Malang Office. The event aimed to strengthen the recipients’ commitment, leadership potential, and understanding of the BAKU character values – an acronym representing “Baik dan Kuat” (Good and Strong), a foundational philosophy of Daarut Tauhiid.

The day began with a physical and fitness assessment held at Rampal Field – Kodam/V Brawijaya. This session was designed to ensure participants maintain good physical health and readiness to engage in community-based activities.

The second session fostered an engaging atmosphere through a sharing and bonding session between new and continuing scholarship recipients. Participants introduced themselves, shared personal experiences, and reflected on the unique challenges and opportunities of being part of the DT Peduli scholarship program. The highlight of this session was the introduction to the BAKU values, guiding the students toward excellence in both conduct and contribution to society. The session was facilitated by Foury, whose energy brought warmth and unity to the group.

After a break for prayer, lunch, and rest, the final and most important session of the day commenced. It was led by Joko Cahyono, Head of DT Peduli Malang Service Office, who introduced the institution’s background, vision, and expectations for scholarship recipients. He emphasized the significance of maintaining strong academic performance, good manners (adab), and active social contribution.

The event concluded with the official signing of the Scholarship Agreement (SPK – Surat Perjanjian Kerjasama). New students signed their acceptance contracts, while returning scholars signed their renewal agreements for the upcoming semester.

“Alhamdulillah, I’m very grateful to be accepted into the DT Peduli scholarship program. I hope this opportunity will give me valuable experience, especially in social engagement, and help me broaden my skills and knowledge,” said Azra, a mathematics major and scholarship recipient.

Through this initiative, DT Peduli aims to nurture well-rounded individuals who are not only academically accomplished but also strong in character, resilient in life, and committed to making a difference in society.
