CIREBON – The DT Peduli Cirebon Service Office (KL Cirebon) successfully held the grand finale of its Muharram Peduli Yatim (Muharram Care for Orphans) program by organizing a Joyful Excursion and Shopping Day for 50 orphaned children on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

The activities were split into two segments. In the morning, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 30 orphaned children were taken to Salsabila Outbound & Waterboom in Cigandamekar District, Kuningan Regency, for a day of outdoor fun and swimming.

After a group prayer, the children traveled to the venue on a colorful local ride known as odong-odong. Along the way, they enjoyed cool mountain air and stunning views of Mount Ciremai.

Upon arrival, the children were greeted with an interactive storytelling session led by Kak Illa and her puppet companion Akio, whose adorable antics brought laughter and joy. A surprise door prize session during the storytelling kept the children fully engaged and excited.

Following the storytime, the children changed into sportswear and participated in outbound activities such as net climbing, mini flying fox, raft balancing, and wall climbing—guided by instructors who helped them build confidence and motor skills. The adventurous day continued with swimming, lunch, and the distribution of gifts and financial aid.

The second segment began at 1:00 PM with a different group of 20 orphans who were taken to Yogya Junction Mall for a Joyful Shopping experience. Wide-eyed and smiling, many of the children were stepping into a mall this size for the very first time.

Each child was accompanied by a volunteer, with one volunteer assisting two to three children. The little ones pushed shopping carts down the aisles, excitedly selecting essential items such as fruit, rice, milk, snacks, clothes, shoes, and school supplies.

After shopping, the children expressed their joy. Dea (7), who attended with her two older siblings, said:

“I’m really happy. I bought tea, milk, a water bottle, a pencil case, an eraser, and other things. Alhamdulillah, thank you DT Peduli,” she said with a bright smile.
Windi, one of the volunteers, shared her emotional experience during the event:

“This was such a touching experience. I accompanied Ridwan (8), and he prioritized buying items for his younger sibling instead of himself. These kids showed such maturity and thoughtfulness. This event happened because of the generosity of our donors. Thank you to all donors and DT Peduli—may Allah bless your kindness,” Windi said.

This heartwarming event served not only to fulfill physical needs but also to provide lasting memories and strengthen the spirit of love and compassion among orphans in the sacred month of Muharram.
