BANJARMASIN, Indonesia – DT Peduli South Kalimantan (Kalsel) has once again launched a four-day barbershop training program from Monday (August 25, 2025) to Thursday (August 28, 2025). The training, held at one of DT Peduli’s partner barbershops in Banjarmasin, was joined by five enthusiastic beneficiaries eager to sharpen their skills and prepare for entrepreneurship.
What made this program special was its instructor: a former DT Peduli barbershop beneficiary who has successfully transformed his life and career. Today, he stands as a skilled trainer and independent entrepreneur, sharing both technical expertise and personal experiences to inspire new participants.
The training covered not only haircutting techniques, but also service ethics, basic business management, and strategies to attract customers—essential knowledge to support participants in starting their own barbershops or gaining employment in the field.
Heryannor, Program Manager of DT Peduli Kalsel, highlighted the broader purpose of the initiative:
“We want to create economic independence. By gaining these skills, participants can either start their own businesses or work in existing barbershops, ensuring they have sustainable livelihoods and can improve their families’ well-being.”
One participant, Muhammad Asqolani (30), expressed his gratitude for the opportunity:
“I learned so much—how to handle tools correctly, modern haircutting techniques, and how to serve customers. Beyond cutting hair, I also learned how to manage a small business. This program really gave me a new direction after being unsure about what to do for work. Now I have a skill set I can use to earn a living. Thank you, DT Peduli Kalsel, for this valuable opportunity.”
Through initiatives like this, DT Peduli continues its mission to empower communities, foster self-reliance, and provide practical pathways for sustainable livelihoods.
